Watch out for Budget Car Rental Extra Charges

Just a little warning to check your bill over at Budget Car Rentals.  I have to say that normally I find Budget to be a decent outfit.  This particular time I rented a car for one day in Toronto and upon returning it I noticed an approximately $25 fueling surcharge.  I never buy the fueling option, preferring to fill it myself so I asked them why they added that charge.

Their answer was, "Because you drove it for so few kilometers we automatically add the fueling charge.  Did you fuel it?"

I was browsing for advertising budgets on the websites of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and parent company, YUM!, when I stumbled across a press release stating that, in 2006, KFC had created a logo that could be seen from space.  That is the perfect backdrop against which to measure the front-line actions of KFC employees I recently experienced.

Well, it happened again. Like my previous entries on banks, I had to deal with one and was unimpressed. I wanted to pay my line of credit with a check from another bank. Balance was about $9900 and I had received the bill a week earlier. I ask the teller only two very simple questions:

The other day my utility company mailed me an informational type letter and did not put a stamp on it.  To my surprise the letter was still delivered but Canada Post had attached a "$1.04 Postage Due" card.

"With this card you received mail that was sent without enough postage.  To avoid delay and inconvenience, the amount due was not collected at the time of delivery.  Please affix the postage on the other side of this card to cover the amount due, and mail the card.  Your postmaster".

For the last few days, we've been having terrible weather.  For a break to the house monotony, the kids and I set out to IKEA.  I love IKEA to begin with, but when you have kids, then IKEA day is a whole new kind of FUN day.
