I needed some translations done.  I called around, and Slav-Tours was the closest to me in proximity (yet still about 1/2h drive).  They told me that they open at 9:30 am and to come with the documents anytime, to leave them and they'll get them done for me.  Sounded exactly what I was looking for.  When I got there at 10:00 am a few weeks back, nobody was there!  A few minutes later a cab pulled up and a lady came up to Slav-Tours, opening the doors, apologizing for her tardiness.  She took my documents, told me the cost and that the translations would be ready in a couple of

Every year I need to get vaccinations for my two dogs (actually, that's what the vets say, I actually don't know which shots are needed, and which are just money makers for them).  I never mind going - my dogs are especially well behaved, and always very healthy, so there is nothing to worry about.  But after I go, I remember the guilty feeling of last year, and the previous years.

I'm writing this because I just got enraged by Symantec not sending me a rebate for SystemWorks.  This post is merely motivated by that however, it is really about their terrible product called Antivirus.

I am sick and tired of getting Norton Antivirus bundled with almost anything I buy.  It was included on a motherboard I bought two years ago, again in a DVD burner, again preloaded on a laptop I bought for my mother-in-law, and finally I bought it because it comes with SystemWorks.

Just an observation:  Probably 90% of the stuff I have ever bought at a Source or Radio Shack has not worked.  The exceptions are batteries and the hobby electronics components.  All the cool tools just don't do squat.  I could package up my toenail clippings and call it a Heart Rate Monitor or Remote Control Extender (both items that I bought) and they would work just as well.  I'm completely surprised that these products ever make it to manufacturing.  You would think someone actually tried them somewhere along the way and realized it was garbage.

Just a quick one:  I'm in Florida on a Saturday on the weekend ending spring break.  There have been some storms in the North-eastern US and Canada causing the cancellation of a bunch of flights.  I am booked through Philadelphia to Montreal.
